1. What this site measures

We use Google Analytics to count how many people arrive, where from and which pages they read. It is there to tell us whether the site works, not to recognise who visits it: we do no advertising, we sell no data and we build no profiles.

It only starts if you agree. Until you choose, and for good if you refuse, the site does not load it at all: no request to Google, no cookie.

2. Your choice, and how to change it

  • On your first visit a banner appears with two identical buttons, Accept and Refuse: refusing costs one click, exactly like accepting.
  • Your choice stays in your browser and holds for later visits. It is not a cookie: it is a line of local storage, which does not travel with every request.
  • To change your mind, at the bottom of every page, under Legal, there is Change your choice: it reopens the banner.
  • If your browser blocks JavaScript, nothing appears and nothing loads: in that case there is nothing to consent to.

3. Which cookies, and for how long

Only after your consent, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, that is, cookies of the volpebox.com domain:

  • _ga, two years: tells one visitor from another.
  • _ga_<identifier>, two years: keeps the state of the current visit.
  • If you refuse, those two cookies are never created. If you accepted before and then change your mind, you can delete them from your browser settings.

4. What the server records anyway

Like every website, the server keeps a technical log of requests: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser. It is not a cookie, it does not depend on consent and it is not used to profile anyone: it keeps the site running and protects it from abuse. How long it is kept, and on what legal basis, is in the privacy policy.

5. What is not here

No profiling cookies, no advertising pixels, no maps, no videos and no third-party widgets. The typefaces are served by the site itself, not by an external provider. Google Analytics is the only external service on the whole site, and only with your consent.
